These terms are the agreement between you and Ekiro when you use the service to find, create and attend local events. They are meant to be read: plain rules about who can use Ekiro, how to behave, how events and payments work, and what you can and cannot expect from us. Using Ekiro means you accept them.
By creating an account or using Ekiro, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your data. When you sign up we record your acceptance as a versioned consent, so both you and we have a record of the version you agreed to. If you do not agree, please do not use Ekiro.
You must be 18 or older, wherever you are, and you confirm this at sign-up. You must provide accurate information and be able to form a binding agreement where you live. If we find an account does not meet these conditions, we may close it.
Keep your sign-in details to yourself and your account secure. You are responsible for what happens under it. You may sign in with email or with Google or Facebook. You can export your data or delete your account at any time from Profile → Your data; deleting starts a 30-day window during which you can change your mind, after which your account is irreversibly removed.
Ekiro works because people treat each other well. You agree not to:
Anyone eligible can host or join events. The house rule is simple: show up or cancel in time, and treat hosts, guests and their spaces with respect. If you host, describe your event honestly and be reachable to the people who join. If you join, respect the host’s decision on your request and the cap on places.
Ekiro connects hosts and guests - it is not the organiser of any event, and we are not responsible for what happens at one. You are responsible for your own safety and conduct when you meet people in the real world. Use the safety features, and use your judgement.
Where an event shows a price, that price is information only. Any payment for attending an event happens outside Ekiro, directly between you and the host. Ekiro does not take payments, does not process, hold or refund money, and is not a party to any payment between a host and a guest. Any dispute about money is between the people involved.
You can create private or friends-only events and invite specific people. A private event is not shown publicly and its link is not a public page. Before you leave for an event you are going to, you can compose a message with where you are going and how to get there and send it to anyone you like, through your own messaging app - Ekiro does not keep who you send it to. These features exist to help - they are not a guarantee of anyone’s safety, and you should still take normal precautions when meeting people.
You can report a person, an event or a message. We review reports and, where the deadlines require it, tell the reporter what we decided. We may remove content, and we may block, suspend, or remove accounts that break these terms or put others at risk. You can block another person yourself at any time. Where the law requires, you will be told of a decision that affects you and how it can be questioned.
You keep ownership of the content you create on Ekiro - your profile, your events, your messages. You grant us the limited permission we need to host and show that content so the service can work (for example, showing your event to the people you invite). You are responsible for the content you post and for having the right to post it.
Ekiro is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We do not promise the service will always be uninterrupted or error-free, and we are not responsible for the conduct of other people, on Ekiro or at an event, or for anything arising from a payment made outside Ekiro.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for intent or gross negligence, or for anything else that cannot be excluded under Estonian law or under the mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country where you live. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profit, data or opportunity.
We may update these terms. When we do, we change the document version and effective date at the top and, where the change is material, ask you to accept the new version, recording it against your account. Continuing to use Ekiro after a change means you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Estonia, and disputes go to the Estonian courts, with Harju County Court (Harju Maakohus) in Tallinn as the court of first instance.
If you use Ekiro as a consumer, that choice of law does not take away the protection of the mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of that country. A consumer in Estonia may also turn to the Consumer Disputes Committee at the Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority (Tarbijakaitse ja Tehnilise Järelevalve Amet, Endla 10a, 10142 Tallinn).
